Phil McCart

Born in Missouri, Phil and his wife settled in Colorado in 2018. He has a B.S. in Physics and M.S. in Materials Science. In 2023, after the birth of his daughter and being introduced to the concept of social capital through Robert Putnam’s Bowling Alone, Phil began to get involved locally in the City of Littleton. After visiting South Metro Fire Rescue as a citizen with questions about the International Fire Code, he was impressed by the professionalism of the Fire Marshal’s Office and the pride SMFR takes in its work. As he learned more about the responsibilities of the Board, it was immediately apparent this position combines his passions in engineering, science, and community service. Appointed to the board to fill a tragically vacated seat, he is humbled and excited by the opportunity to serve the over 500,000 citizens of the District. He hopes to earn the votes of Littleton and Unincorporated Jefferson County voters in the upcoming 2027 election.
