Construction Planning for South Metro Fire Rescue's New Fire Station #15
**Latest Update**
Due to unforeseen issues with masonry work during the rebuild of Station 15, contractors are having to demo the block walls that have recently been constructed. They have informed South Metro that the demo of these walls should be done by early next week, with construction resuming the following week. We apologize for any added noise and inconvenience this demolition may cause to our neighbors and local businesses, and we are working diligently with the builders to complete the project as quickly as possible. We will continue to keep the community updated on progress and we thank everyone for their understanding and patience throughout the duration of rebuilding Station 15. We are looking at a Fall 2024 opening at this time.
In an effort to continue to provide a high level of service to the citizens of Centennial, South Metro Fire Rescue is pleased to be moving forward with rebuilding a new Station 15 -- which is located at 2702 E. Dry Creek Road, Centennial, CO 80112. Demolition of the current station is expected to begin in early June; with the completion of the new Station 15 expected Fall of 2024. The station will be rebuilt at the same location as the current site.
With anticipation of having to close Station 15 for roughly 12 months, South Metro has done a thorough analysis of response times in the area that the station serves to ensure that there will be no service interruption or delays for our citizens who live or work in the area. The apparatus that currently operate out of Station 15 will be relocated during construction so that response capabilities will continue. This includes:
- Engine 15 relocating to Station 37 (which is located at 5701 S. University Blvd., Greenwood Village, CO 80121)
- Medic 15 relocating to Station 14 (which is located at 6600 S. Colorado Blvd., Centennial, CO 80121)
- Medic 37 relocating to Station 33 (which is located at 7281 E. Dry Creek Road, Centennial, CO 80112)
