Metropolitan Area
Communications Center - MetCom
In 2006 we opened a new, state-of-the art dispatch center at our administrative building. The Metropolitan Area Communications Center, called “MetCom” for short, combines the best dispatching technology with a team of highly-trained and experienced emergency services dispatchers. The primary goal of Metcom is to reduce the time it takes from when you call 911 until a fire truck or ambulance shows up at your door. MetCom’s personnel are also trained in EMD, or Emergency Medical Dispatch, which means they can provide help to callers over the phone, while our firefighters and paramedics are on the way. The Parker Fire Protection District joined MetCom in late December of 2007. MetCom is now governed by an independent authority, with representatives from both Parker and South Metro fire on its board of directors.
As always, in an emergency, call 911. MetCom's non-emergency number is 720.488.7263. For more information, you can visit the MetCom website at metcom911.org.
