This year's event is being kicked off on March 6th (Thur.) with a keg-tapping
at 6 p.m. at the Rock Bottom Brewery at Park Meadows (in the
Centennial Promendade cnter).

The 2164 Foundation will use the proceeds ($.25 from every fire chief ale sold)
to establish the Michelle Vanek College Fund, which will enable
the Foundation to provide at least one scholarship for a deserving
single mom who is enrolled or plans on attending college (see below for
details).

Please come out and join us for this worthy and fun event.

Michelle Vanek College Scholarship Program

DESCRIPTION
The 2164 Foundation, in its commitment "to provide
benevolent service to its immediate and extended community through
fundraising activities and volunteerism in a responsible manner," is
establishing The Michelle Vanek College Fund.
This scholarship is being established in honor of Michelle Vanek
who went missing in the fall of 2005 while hiking the Mount of the Holy
Cross. Before marrying her husband Ben, Michelle had been a single mom
who put herself through college. In honor of Michelle, this annual
scholarship of $1,000 per academic year (generally, from Fall until
Spring) will go to at least one deserving single mom who is attending or
will attend an accredited two or four year college for completion of an
associate's or bachelor's degree.

PURPOSE
The purpose of the Michelle Vanek College Fund is to provide at least
one $500-$1,000 scholarship award each year to offset the cost of
tuition for at least one deserving single mother who is attending or
will attend an accredited two or four year college for completion of an
associate's or bachelor's degree. Each recipient may re-apply for
successive scholarships (a maximum of four) based on grade point average
maintained throughout the academic year, availability of funds and the
number of applications received each spring.
