The South Metro Fire Rescue Authority's mission is directly linked to the programs offered by the Life Safety Education Unit. We strive to proactively engage with our communities to provide the best protection of lives and property through prevention and education in an attempt to reduce the occurrence of fires and injuries. As part of the Community Safety Services model, education is one of the "4 E's" in community risk reduction: Engineering - Education - Enforcement - Evaluation. This model allows for collaboration among all Authority bureaus to successfully address the prevention and education needs of the community.
Four full-time Life Safety Education positions are supported by the Authority, which provide numerous fire and life safety programs targeted for all age groups.
