Firefighter Hiring Process

Minimum Qualifications for Entry Level Firefighter - Grade I
Ø Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma(GED)
Ø Current Colorado State EMT certification or higher (Paramedic) (with the exception of a Firefighter Apprentice applicant)
Ø Must be CPR Certified for the professional rescuer.
Ø Must have proof of completed Heptivac series or show proof of being on schedule with the shot series.
Ø Must have a valid Colorado Driver’s License and be insurable by the Authority’s insurance provider.
Ø Must be able to pass a criminal history review and a physical, medical and psychological exam in accordance with the Authority’s policy.
Ø The Chief of the Authority may authorize an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
