February 2008 Update

South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR) and Parker Fire Protection District are currently studying a potential merger or consolidation of services.  In light of this, SMFR’s cadet firefighter hiring list confirmed in 2007 will remain active, through December 2008, for any cadet positions filled by SMFR this year.  This will allow time to consider the results of the South Metro/Parker feasibility study and the impact that a consolidation or merger may have on immediate and future staffing needs.
