Instructor Methodology

This is typically a 16-hour course covering: Role of the Instructor, Safety, Legal Considerations, Psychology of Learning, Public Speaking, and Instructional Delivery.

Students are required to read the IFSTA Fire and Emergency Services Instructor book  (8th or 9th Edition) - Chapters 1 thru 9 and pass the Pre-Course Self-Assessments prior to class!

Pre-Course Self-Assessments are found by clicking HERE or

by navigating here: https://smfr.box.com/v/SelfAssessements

The student must attend both days to obtain a certificate of completion.

This class counts as the initial Instructor Methodology course as set forth by the Colorado Division of Fire Safety for the Fire Instructor I level.

This class does not provide a State of Colorado Division of Fire Safety written or practical exam for Instructor I. The class does provide the opportunity to meet other instructors in the emergency service field and provides the State of Colorado Practical Proctor class.
