South Metro Fire Rescue is a special district as defined by state of Colorado that protects the citizens and guests of several cities, including, Cherry Hills Village, Greenwood Village, Centennial, Lone Tree, Castle Pines, Castle Pines Village, town of Parker, Town of Foxfield, and large portions of unincorporated Arapahoe and Douglas Counties. The Development and Construction section of our Life Safety Bureau is responsible for plan reviews, permits and inspections for new and tenant improvement construction for the District.

You may schedule a permit related inspection by logging into the Citizen Portal with your user ID and password. If you need assistance with the process, please view the tutorials on the Development & Construction page.

For general questions regarding the permit process, you may contact Permit Coordinator Vikki Seela at (720) 989-2238 or Division Assistant Becky Bishop at (720) 989-2209.

The Code Compliance Section is responsible for conducting inspections and ensuring hazardous material compliance of all existing businesses and buildings within our district boundaries. Our fire inspectors are not necessarily assigned a specific geographical area and may conduct inspections throughout the district boundaries. As with all of the Bureau’s Fire Inspectors, please understand that their primary “office” is in the field, so there may be a slight delay in returning your phone call should they be conducting a fire inspection or involved in other district business.

Many of our employees work a modified work schedule and/or may be assigned to a special assignment. Should you need immediate assistance and are unable to reach the specific party you are attempting to contact, please call our main Fire Marshal's Office (720) 989-2230. In addition, you may also contact Mike Williams, Section Supervisor for the Code Compliance Section, on his direct line at (720) 989-2258.
